The biggest takeaway of the three-day 20th India International Seafood Show (IISS) was total unanimity among all its stakeholders that the country’s seafood exports target of 10 billion US dollars by 2020 was ‘eminently possible’ and India would continue to be a marine sector hotspot, a top official of the industry said.

Marine product exports from India are projected to increase nearly 20% to USD 5.6 billion in 2016-17, particularly with strides in aquaculture diversification, quality control, value addition and improved production infrastructure— all of which will be demonstrated at the upcoming biennial India International Seafood Show (IISS) here next week.
