KOLKATA, 4 October 2025: Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, promoted by Nishant Kanodia, has been conferred the prestigious Mahatma Award for CSR Excellence, recognising the company’s voluntary and impactful contributions to community development in and around its manufacturing hub at Panagarh, West Bengal.
Selected from over 2,100 entries nationwide, Matix emerged as the sole recipient from West Bengal this year, underscoring its sustained efforts in social upliftment driven by proactive engagement rather than compliance.
Over the years, Matix has aligned its CSR programmes with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, delivering measurable impact across multiple areas. Under Project Dhadkan and Project Suraksha, the company has provided free medical and preventive healthcare to over 49,000 people. Its initiatives in education, including the Mini Science Centre, Digital Education Project and Anganwadi upgrades, have benefitted more than 3,200 children.
In the area of women’s empowerment, Project Shakti and Project Saksham have trained over 565 women in skills such as animal husbandry, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Meanwhile, the Mobile Soil Testing Van (MSTV) has analysed more than 9,500 soil samples across five states, supporting scientific farming and improved soil health.
“This recognition validates our belief that our responsibility extends beyond business to the roots of the communities we serve,” said Nishant Kanodia, Promoter and Chairman of Matix. “Our CSR initiatives are a heartfelt commitment to making a lasting difference.”
Adding to this, Manoj Mishra, Managing Director, remarked that projects like Dhadkan and the MSTV are bringing tangible improvements to rural lives every day, and the award will drive the company to expand its community-focused efforts.
The accolade reinforces Matix’s mission “With Farmers, For India”, advancing the agri-food ecosystem with planet-friendly, sustainable solutions.
