MUMBAI, 15 December 2025: Indian dairy-tech startup Nitara has secured global recognition after winning the International Dairy Federation (IDF) Dairy Innovation Award 2025 in the category Innovation in Socio-Economic Sustainability in Farming. The award was presented at the IDF World Dairy Summit 2025 held in Santiago, Chile, positioning Nitara among leading global innovators in dairy technology.

The 2025 IDF Awards attracted more than 130 submissions worldwide, including entries from multinational dairy majors such as Nestlé and FrieslandCampina. India featured prominently, with Nitara and Bharat Sanjeevani both emerging as winners, underscoring the country’s growing influence in agri-technology and sustainable dairy solutions.

Nitara was recognised for its AI-driven, farmer-centric platform that supports smallholder dairy farmers through digital herd management, health assessments, and localized advisory services. Built as an offline-first mobile application with local language interfaces, the platform is tailored for rural India, addressing connectivity challenges while improving access to veterinary guidance, nutrition planning, and breeding insights.

The platform integrates farmers, veterinarians, AI technicians, and dairy cooperatives into a single digital ecosystem, enabling data-led decisions on feeding, disease prevention, and reproductive health. According to the company, more than 20,000 farmers across multiple Indian states currently use Nitara to track milk yields, receive vaccination reminders, and improve herd productivity.

The IDF jury highlighted Nitara’s contribution to socio-economic sustainability, particularly its role in improving income stability and resilience for small-scale dairy farmers. The recognition aligns with India’s broader priorities around digital inclusion, sustainable agriculture, and farmer empowerment.

Nitara’s win marks a milestone for India’s dairy-tech sector, reinforcing the country’s capability to deliver scalable, inclusive innovations as the world’s largest milk producer strengthens its global leadership in sustainable dairy farming.
