MUMBAI, 21 November 2025: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, showcased its portfolio of alternate fuel tractors and sustainable farming technologies at Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur. The exhibition was attended by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.

At the event, Mahindra presented three major innovations:

• CNG/CBG Tractor based on the Yuvo Tech+ platform, capable of operating on compressed natural gas, compressed biogas, and dual-fuel diesel-CNG modes.
• Ethanol Flex Fuel Tractor Engine, designed to run on ethanol derived from sugarcane, maize, crop stubble and other agricultural residue, supporting circular economy initiatives.
• Electric Tractor, developed on the Mahindra OJA platform, offering reduced operating costs, higher torque and fast-charging capability for multi-application use.

Developed at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, these technologies underscore the company’s focus on cleaner and more efficient farm mechanisation. Speaking at the showcase, Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the company aims to drive India’s transition toward green energy in agriculture, aligned with the national commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.

Mahindra has been progressively expanding its portfolio of low-emission farm solutions, including earlier demonstrations of CNG and CBG tractors aimed at lowering operational costs and reducing dependence on conventional fuels. The new ethanol flex-fuel engine promises better storage, transport feasibility and energy independence for farmers.

The electric tractor displayed at Agrovision represents a shift toward zero-emission farming with instant torque, improved efficiency, flexible charging options and extended working ranges.

Alongside its new-age platforms, Mahindra also exhibited a wide range of diesel-powered 2WD and 4WD tractors and implements under both Mahindra and Swaraj brands, reinforcing its market leadership in India's agri-equipment sector.
