HYDERABAD, 22 February 2024: Marut Drones, a leading Indian drone manufacturer, has been granted the world's first utility patent for its innovative direct seeding device designed for rice cultivation.

This 20-year patent, awarded under the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970, recognizes the company's collaboration with Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University (PJTSAU) in developing this groundbreaking technology.

Addressing Labor Shortages and Boosting Efficiency

The patented system features a multi-nozzle aerial seed dispensing mechanism, enabling efficient and precise sowing of diverse rice varieties. Marut's drones adhere to strict operating procedures, ensuring optimal parameters for seed-sowing processes like drone speed, nozzle type, and spraying altitude.

Revolutionizing Rice Farming

"This patented technology will revolutionize rice farming practices in India," stated Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO and Founder of Marut Drones. "By addressing labor shortages due to urbanization, we aim to empower farmers and create a more sustainable rice cultivation ecosystem."

Key Benefits

  • Reduced water usage by 92%
  • Faster return on investment (ROI) - from 3 years to 1.5 years
  • Feasible for delayed monsoons and other challenging situations
  • Increased operational efficiency and flexibility
  • Reduced reliance on manual labor
  • Minimized exposure to harmful pesticides

Seeding 1 Million Hectares by 2030

Marut Drones aims to seed 1 million hectares of land using their direct seeding drones by 2030, contributing to India's food security efforts. This technology holds the potential to address the anticipated dip of 2 million tons in rice production and mitigate disruptions in the global rice market.

Promoting Widespread Adoption

Marut, alongside PJTSAU, is committed to promoting the widespread adoption of direct seeding in rice cultivation. The company offers comprehensive training programs for farmers, rural youth, and stakeholders to facilitate the seamless integration of this innovative technology.

Beyond Seeding

Marut's direct seeding drone is a multi-functional attachment, allowing farmers to utilize it for both seeding and pesticide application, maximizing their return on investment. This versatility justifies the drone's name, AG365, signifying its year-round utility.

Marut Drones emerges as a frontrunner in agricultural innovation, paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient future for rice farming in India.
