CGIAR—operator of 13 Global Research Centers and one of the world’s largest agricultural data repositories—is leveraging the partnership to unlock 50 years of research, models, and field evidence traditionally fragmented across systems. Through new AI applications, farmers will gain real-time intelligence on planting, weather risks, early warning systems and resource optimisation.
A core feature of the ecosystem is the new CGIAR AI Hub, developed with ai71 as a central partner. The Hub enables cross-sector collaboration, integrating datasets and testing AI innovations in a unified digital environment. Early outputs include AgriLLM, an open-source, multilingual AI advisory platform; the IWMI AI-Water Project supporting drought and flood resilience; and an AI Genebank that accelerates climate-resilient crop breeding.
