THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 8 September 2025: The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has registered record sales of dairy products during the Onam season, posting a turnover of INR 37 crore.
From August 31 (Anizham day) to September 4 (Uthradam day), TRCMPU sold 38.78 lakh litres of milk and 3.69 lakh kg of curd across the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
On Uthradam day alone, sales peaked with 13.37 lakh litres of milk and 1.49 lakh kg of curd. In addition, 345 metric tonnes of ghee were sold during the festive period, contributing significantly to the record revenue.
TRCMPU Chairperson Smt. Mani Viswanath and Managing Director Muhammed Ansari credited the achievement to the concerted efforts of dairy farmers, employees, agencies, trade unions and supply chain workers who ensured uninterrupted supply of products in the festive rush.
Expressing appreciation to consumers, Smt. Viswanath said TRCMPU had made extensive arrangements to meet the heightened demand during Onam, enabling seamless distribution of milk and dairy products across the region.
The surge in sales underscores Milma’s enduring role in Kerala’s festive celebrations, where dairy products remain central to household consumption during Onam feasts and rituals.
