Milma Chairman K S Mani recently welcomed the State Government’s decision according in-principle approval to the proposal to provide reservation for dependents of dairy farmers in permanent appointments in Milma’s three regional unions, terming it as a “historic and revolutionary step that will further strengthen Kerala’s dairy sector.”

The fifth round of talks with representatives of 40 Farmer Unions was held at Vigyan Bhawan with Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Railways & Commerce Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash. The next round of talks will take place on 9 December 2020.

Government giving 1.5 crore dairy farmers Kisan Credit Cards

The Government will provide Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to 1.5 crore dairy farmers belonging to Milk Unions and Milk producing Companies within the next two months (1 June-31 July 2020) under a special drive.
