HYDERABAD, 26 August 2025: The Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India has unveiled an ambitious agri-export agenda during its 58th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 66th National Symposium held on August 22–23 at Taj Deccan, Hyderabad.
Themed “Animal Agriculture in India – The Way Forward”, the two-day gathering brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to shape a roadmap for strengthening India’s animal agriculture sector with a sharper export focus.
In his address, CLFMA Chairman Divya Kumar Gulati stressed the sector’s vital role in rural prosperity and national nutrition security. He noted that livestock contributes over 30% to agricultural GVA and 5.5% to the national economy. “With robust policies, cold-chain infrastructure, and innovation, India can evolve from the world’s largest producer to one of its leading exporters,” he said.
The association has proposed the creation of Export Oriented Zones (EOZs) and a Livestock Export & Domestic Development Authority to streamline trade. The move is aimed at ensuring price parity in raw materials, simplifying regulatory frameworks, and advancing global market access through free trade agreements and coordinated branding strategies.
The symposium featured addresses by senior dignitaries, including Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying; Sri Vakiti Srihari, Telangana Minister for Animal Husbandry; Sri Sabyasachi Ghosh, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana; and Dr. Muthukumaraswamy B., Joint Secretary (NLM), Department of Animal Husbandry.
The event also honoured industry achievers and students with the CLFMA Awards, while launching the CLFMA Souvenir, a publication capturing the association’s milestones and future vision.
A networking dinner, cultural programme, and felicitation of sponsors concluded the symposium, underlining the association’s role as a unifying voice for India’s animal agriculture sector.
