CHONBURI / Thailand, 21 November 2025: BASF has announced the expansion of its Alkyl Polyglucosides (APGs) manufacturing capacity at its Bangpakong site in Thailand, reinforcing its regional supply network to support rising demand for sustainable surfactants across Asia.

The enhancement is aimed at serving customers in personal care, home care and industrial applications with improved responsiveness, agility and flexibility. APGs are bio-based, readily biodegradable secondary surfactants derived entirely from renewable feedstocks. Their non-ionic nature allows compatibility with a wide range of formulations, making them widely used across cleaning and agricultural sectors.

“This investment reinforces our commitment to being a reliable partner for customers,” said Mary Kurian, President, Care Chemicals. “By expanding APG production in Thailand, we are boosting regional supply capability and supporting growing demand for sustainable, high-performance solutions.”

BASF currently produces APGs in Düsseldorf (Germany), Jinshan (China) and Cincinnati (United States). The Bangpakong expansion further strengthens availability in Asia, while a new production line in Cincinnati—expected to start in 2026—will enhance supply for North America. Together, these investments underline BASF’s strategy to deliver sustainable performance-oriented ingredients with speed and continuity across major markets.

BASF’s Care Chemicals division is a leading global supplier of specialty ingredients for cosmetics, household care and industrial cleaning industries. With manufacturing and development centres located worldwide, the division continues to grow its presence in emerging markets while advancing innovative and environmentally responsible chemical solutions.
