KAMPALA / Uganda, 29 April 2025: In a major milestone for Uganda’s agricultural trade ecosystem, Bureau Veritas Uganda has achieved GAFTA accreditation, becoming an Approved Superintendent by the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).
This prestigious recognition affirms the company’s capacity to deliver high-quality inspection, verification, and testing services aligned with the most stringent international grain trade standards.
Following a comprehensive audit process concluded in February 2025, Bureau Veritas Uganda now joins an elite global network of service providers authorized to inspect and certify agricultural commodities such as wheat, soybeans, corn, and feed products in compliance with GAFTA trade contracts.
“GAFTA accreditation is a strong endorsement of our commitment to excellence, integrity, and technical competence in agricultural testing and inspection,” said Cyprian Kabbis, Area Chief Executive for Bureau Veritas Eastern Africa. “Our clients can rely on us for objective, globally benchmarked quality assessments that enhance transparency and food safety standards across the supply chain.”
The accreditation process involved a rigorous self-assessment, formal documentation, and an exhaustive audit by GAFTA to evaluate operational efficiency, quality control protocols, and compliance with international regulations.
With this recognition, Bureau Veritas Uganda is now authorized to:
- Conduct grain and feed inspections
- Perform nutritional and contaminant analysis in certified labs
- Monitor packaging, labelling, and logistics compliance
- Offer sampling and grading services for exporters and importers
