SIROHI, 20 August 2023: Prompt Group, a pioneering equipment and software solutions provider in the dairy supply chain, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation known as Solar MilkoChill units to bridge the gap in chilling infrastructure for enhanced milk quality and sustainability.

The unveiling of ten Solar MilkoChill units took place in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, marking a significant leap in dairy technology. These state-of-the-art units are set to revolutionize the industry by addressing a critical factor affecting milk quality – the time lag between milking and the first chilling.

Milk, being a highly perishable commodity, requires immediate chilling to arrest bacterial growth and maintain its quality. Prompt Group's Solar MilkoChill units leverage solar power to provide instant chilling at the source, reducing spoilage and extending shelf life. This advancement holds the potential to increase farmers' income by preserving milk quality.

Shridhar Mehta, Managing Director of Prompt Group, spoke about the innovation's significance. "Our Solar MilkoChill unit represents a pioneering product that uses innovative solar-powered chilling technology to enhance milk quality. It offers a practical alternative to existing bulk milk cooler solutions and has the potential to revolutionize the dairy industry."

The installation of these units at the Asha Mahila Milk Producers Company Limited received financial support from the World Wide Fund (WWF) India. Dharmendra Malik, CEO of Asha Mahila Milk Producers Company, emphasized the benefits for dairy farmers and dairies. "Adopting instant chilling technology will improve milk quality and enhance dairy product quality, ultimately boosting economic gains for dairy farmers and dairies," he stated.

The Solar MilkoChill unit also addresses challenges posed by erratic power supply, especially in rural areas where dairy operations are expanding. Union Minister Parshottam Rupala commended the technology for its role in increasing milk shelf life and quality, ultimately benefitting dairy farmers.

Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), highlighted the pivotal role of innovative technologies like instant milk chillers in shaping India's emergence as a global dairy leader. He praised the solar-based approach taken by Prompt Group.

The inauguration ceremony featured addresses from various dairy industry leaders, emphasizing the role of innovation in shaping the future of dairy production. The inclusion of instant milk chillers in milk chilling infrastructure aligns with the government's vision of doubling farmers' income through improved milk quality and reduced spoilage.
