NEW DELHI, 29 September 2023: The International Zinc Association (IZA), in association with the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI), is organizing the highly anticipated Global Micronutrient Summit 2.0 on the 5 to 6  October 2023 at Leela Palace in New Delhi, India.

The summit will convene leading experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to address the critical issue of micronutrient deficiencies in soil, crops, and human health.

The two-day summit will be inaugurated by the esteemed Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Hon’ble Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt of India, as the Guest of Honour.

Arun Misra, Chairman International Zinc Association (IZA) and CEO, of Hindustan Zinc, and Mr. Arvind Chaudhary, Director General, of the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI), will also be present during this inaugural session. During this momentous occasion, Dr. Mandaviya will release the KPMG Knowledge Book, adding a valuable resource to the ongoing discourse on micronutrient management.

Micronutrient deficiencies in soil and crops have emerged as a pressing global issue, affecting crop yields and quality. Countries worldwide are grappling with deficiencies in essential micronutrients, with zinc and boron leading the list, followed by iron, manganese, copper, and others. The Global Micronutrient Summit 2.0 is poised to transcend conventional discussions by exploring the intricate interplay between soil, crops, and human well-being. Experts will delve into the pivotal roles of micronutrients like zinc and iron in combating malnutrition, offering holistic solutions that bridge the gap between agriculture and human health.

The Summit would be attended by around 200 delegates from India and abroad representing policy makers, academia and fertilizer industry. Various national and international organizations, like IFDC, KPMG, Harvest Plus, ICAR and IMMA are also joining as affiliate partners in the Summit. There would be national and international Speakers on various topics on micronutrient fertilizers, value added and innovative products & technologies. It is expected that fruitful recommendations would emerged out of the two days deliberations and discussions which would help in formulating future strategy on micronutrients, including zinc fertilizers.
