JAIPUR, 16 February 2026: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the AI-powered digital platform ‘Bharat-VISTAAR’ in Jaipur, marking what he described as the beginning of an “AI farmer revolution” in India. The national rollout will take place at the State Institute of Agricultural Management, Durgapura, in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other senior officials.

Developed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharat-VISTAAR is a farmer-centric Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) designed to provide integrated, real-time agricultural information through voice calls, chatbot and web interface.

Voice-First AI for Every Farmer

The platform has been built as a Voice-First AI system accessible even through feature phones via helpline number 155261. Farmers can access weather forecasts from the India Meteorological Department, market prices from Agmarknet, pest alerts from the National Pest Surveillance System, and crop advisories based on scientific inputs from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

In Phase-1, services will be available in Hindi and English, covering states such as Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat. Regional AI integrations include Maharashtra’s MahaVistaar, BiharKrishi and AmulAI.

Integrated Schemes and Advisory

At launch, the platform will integrate 10 major central schemes, including PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Soil Health Card, Kisan Credit Card and Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. Farmers can check eligibility, track benefits, register complaints and receive weather-based advisory in one place.

Roadmap and Expansion

An ‘AI for Agriculture Roadmap’, ‘AI Hackathon’ and ‘AgriKosh’ will also be unveiled during the event. Within six months, Bharat-VISTAAR will expand to 11 languages, adding Tamil, Bengali, Assamese and Kannada in the next phase.

Positioned as an agriculture equivalent of UPI for payments, Bharat-VISTAAR aims to eliminate fragmented information systems and empower farmers with verified, real-time, AI-driven decision support.
