MUMBAI / PUNE, 28 May 2024: In a bid to bridge the gap between urban consumers and fresh, ethically sourced produce, Pune-based Kisanserv has announced a bold expansion plan.

The agritech leader aims to open 250 new retail stores across Pune and Mumbai over the next three years, tripling its current footprint and potentially serving millions of new customers with high-quality fruits and vegetables at competitive prices through its omni-channel neighborhood retail stores offering exclusively fruits and vegetables.

Kisanserv is poised to make a significant impact by expanding its footprint and providing consumers with fresh, premium-quality produce at competitive prices, given the estimated $150 billion size of the fruits and vegetables retail market in India. Since starting its business operations in 2019, Kisanserv has swiftly positioned itself as a leader in the urban fresh produce market, boasting an 80% customer retention rate and fostering repeat purchases through its emphasis on quality and affordability. The company's unique selling proposition lies in offering fresh, premium-packed fruits and vegetables at prices 15–25% lower than the market average, thereby making healthy eating more accessible to urban consumers.

Niranjan Sharma, Founder and CEO of Kisanserv, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion plans, stating, "Our mission at Kisanserv is twofold: to provide consumers with affordable, high-quality produce and to support local farmers by ensuring fair prices and direct sourcing."

Their retail expansion has been impressive, with 25 stores already established in Pune and Mumbai within 15 months. Looking ahead, Niranjan Sharma has outlined an ambitious plan for the future, aiming to open 250 more retail stores for fruits and vegetables in Pune and Mumbai over the next three years. This expansion strategy reflects Kisanserv's confidence in its business model and the demand for its products and services in the market.
