The programme, to be held at Jhunjhunu Airstrip, Rajasthan, will be chaired by Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma as Chief Guest. Senior Union and State ministers, officials, and farmer representatives are expected to attend, while lakhs of farmers from across the country will join virtually.
Under the state-wise allocation, farmers in Madhya Pradesh will receive INR 1,156 crore, Rajasthan INR 1,121 crore, Chhattisgarh INR 150 crore, and other states INR 773 crore. Rajasthan alone will see over seven lakh farmers benefit.
Highlighting reforms in the scheme, Chouhan said claims will now be settled proportionately based on the central subsidy without waiting for state contributions. Delays by state governments or insurance companies will attract a 12% penalty from the Kharif 2025 season.
Launched in 2016, PMFBY has since covered over 78 crore farmer applications and disbursed claims worth ₹1.83 lakh crore against INR 35,864 crore in farmer premiums — an average payout more than five times the premium paid.
Recent technological upgrades — including YES-TECH, WINDS portal, AIDE mobile app, Krishi Rakshak portal, and helpline 14447 — have enhanced claim settlement speed, data accuracy, and farmer outreach.
Mr. Chouhan termed the initiative a significant step in securing farmer incomes, boosting investment confidence in agriculture, and advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
