NASHIK, 26 August 2025: BASF India has expanded its flagship Kids’ Lab programme to Nashik, bringing hands-on chemistry and climate education to over 2,300 children from rural and tribal backgrounds. The programme ran from August 4 to 14 in partnership with Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj and Sahyadri Farms.

The initiative engaged students from 18 local schools, supported by 35 mentors. Through interactive experiments, children explored pollution, renewable energy, and sustainable practices, while learning how everyday actions can contribute to climate protection.

Launched in India in 2023, BASF Kids’ Lab has previously reached young learners in Navi Mumbai, Mangalore, Bangalore, and Delhi, inspiring more than 8,400 children to date.

“By taking Kids’ Lab beyond city limits, we want every child to see their power in shaping a sustainable tomorrow,” said Alexander Gerding, Managing Director, BASF India.

Adv. Nitin Thakare of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj described the programme as a “wonderful experience” that built curiosity and confidence among rural students. Vilas Shinde, Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms, added that the collaboration “inspires young minds while strengthening the future of farming communities.”

BASF India said the expansion reflects its long-term commitment to inclusivity in science education and to nurturing the next generation of innovators equipped to tackle climate challenges.
