MUMBAI, 8 July 2025: In a significant move to bolster regional collaboration in the livestock and poultry sectors, the Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India hosted a two-day bilateral meet with key Sri Lankan institutions on July 1 and 2, 2025, in Mumbai.

Organised in partnership with the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (SLVA) and the World Poultry Science Association – Sri Lanka Branch (WPSA–SL), the event served as a platform to discuss policy alignment, joint research, veterinary advancements, and feed innovation.

Senior officials from both countries attended the meet, including Dr. Palika Fernando, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, and Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardana, Director General – Treasury, Sri Lanka. The CLFMA delegation was led by Chairman Divya Kumar Gulati, with key members including Deputy Chairman Naveen Pasuparthy and Executive Director Colonel Vinay Kumar.

The meet commenced with an informal dialogue, setting the tone for more structured collaboration. Mr. Gulati formally invited the Sri Lankan delegation to the upcoming CLFMA National Symposium and AGM in Hyderabad, a gesture that was warmly welcomed.

The formal sessions on July 2 focused on shared opportunities in livestock breeding, veterinary sciences, R&D, and sustainable trade practices. Mr. Gulati described the event as a “platform for creating long-term value for both countries,” while Colonel Vinay Kumar presented CLFMA’s initiatives across India's livestock value chain.

Dr. Fernando and Dr. Jayawardana expressed keen interest in formalising this partnership. Leaders from SLVA and WPSA–SL also voiced their commitment to long-term institutional collaboration.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a formal dinner, reinforcing the spirit of regional solidarity and cooperation.
