MUMBAI, 11 October 2025: The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, recently virtually inaugurated the Mahindra Tractors Skill Development Centre at Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, from Mumbai. The centre aims to empower rural youth by providing industry-relevant skills, paving the way for new employment opportunities in the region.

Established by Mahindra Tractors in partnership with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), the centre is located at the Government ITI College, Gadchiroli. It aligns with the nation’s focus on skill development as a means to harness India’s demographic dividend and promote economic growth in rural areas.

The centre offers a structured curriculum, delivered by expert trainers, providing youth hands-on experience with tractor and farm machinery skills. Trainees will have opportunities for careers across the ecosystem, including assembly roles at manufacturing plants and sales and service roles at dealership locations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We are honoured that our Hon. Prime Minister inaugurated the Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. Partnering with the Government of Maharashtra, we aim to uplift rural communities by cultivating skills and harvesting hope.”
