THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 10 October 2026: Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Milma brand, reported a turnover of Rs 2,559.71 crore in the first half of financial year 2026-27, a 15.09% increase from Rs 2,224.12 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The turnover includes sales of liquid milk and other dairy products. The federation’s three regional cooperative milk producers’ unions accounted for Rs 2,328.87 crore, while products manufactured at KCMMF facilities contributed Rs 230.84 crore.

Malabar Union Records Highest Turnover

The Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU) recorded the highest turnover among the three regional unions, at Rs 1,011.62 crore, compared with Rs 855.24 crore in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 18.28%.

The Trivandrum Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) reported turnover of Rs 746.21 crore, up 17.35% from Rs 635.89 crore.

The Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (ERCMPU) recorded turnover of Rs 571.04 crore, an increase of 10.71% from Rs 515.79 crore in the first half of FY 2025-26.

Liquid Milk and Dairy Products Drive Sales

Liquid milk sales contributed significantly to the regional unions’ turnover during the six-month period.

TRCMPU reported liquid milk turnover of Rs 589.80 crore, an increase of 13.86%. ERCMPU recorded Rs 444.64 crore, up 6.32%, while MRCMPU reported Rs 712.22 crore, representing growth of 15.50%.

Sales of dairy products other than liquid milk also increased across all three unions.

TRCMPU recorded turnover of Rs 156.41 crore in this category, compared with Rs 117.87 crore in the corresponding period last year. ERCMPU’s turnover rose to Rs 126.40 crore from Rs 97.58 crore, while MRCMPU reported Rs 299.40 crore against Rs 238.60 crore previously.

The figures indicate growth across both liquid milk and other dairy product categories, with MRCMPU contributing the largest turnover among the regional unions.

Higher Sales and Milk Procurement

Milma chairman K. S. Mani attributed the performance to consumer confidence in the brand and the quality of its products. He said the increase in turnover also translated into higher milk procurement from dairy farmers affiliated with Milma’s cooperative network.

According to Mani, the federation and regional unions have taken measures to increase milk production and productivity while maintaining a focus on farmers’ welfare.

Milma operates through its three regional cooperative unions, connecting dairy farmers with milk procurement, processing and marketing networks across Kerala. The latest results highlight the role of the cooperative network in supplying milk and dairy products to the state’s market.
