CHENNAI, 12 August 2025: MangoPoint, a premium exporter of single-origin, chemical-free Indian mangoes and mango-based products, has raised USD 1 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The round also saw participation from The Chennai Angels, Native Angel Network, Keiretsu Forum India, Fondation Botnar, IIM-CAN, Metis Family Office, and JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation.
Founded in 2018 by Manjula Gandhi Rooban and Prasanna Venkatarathnam, MangoPoint has built a reputation for delivering high-quality fresh mangoes and value-added mango products to global markets including North America and Europe. The company currently handles over 2,000 metric tonnes of mangoes annually and plans to scale to 20,000 MT in the coming years. The funding will be used to expand infrastructure, enter new markets, strengthen backend operations, and diversify its product portfolio.
Mitesh Shah, Co-founder of IPV, noted that while Indian mangoes are among the best in the world, they often struggle to compete globally due to poor post-harvest handling and inadequate supply chain infrastructure. “MangoPoint is resolving this by streamlining the supply chain, introducing international-grade quality control, and establishing post-harvest facilities to bring the Indian king of fruits to the global market’s palate,” he said.
The company distinguishes itself by ensuring natural ripening and eliminating harmful chemicals such as calcium carbide from its post-harvest process. With India producing nearly half the world’s mango supply — 24 million MT annually — MangoPoint is positioned to play a transformative role in the country’s mango export sector.
“We are excited about our journey and partnership with IPV and other investors in this funding round,” said Manjula Gandhi Rooban, Founder and Managing Director of MangoPoint. “This investment will broaden our market reach, strengthen our network, and enable innovation across the mango value chain, from fresh produce to processed products and mango-based ingredients.”
MangoPoint is the first packhouse in Tamil Nadu to be accredited by both APEDA and NPPO, and its facility has received FDA inspection and approval. This allows exports of fresh mangoes and mango products to high-value markets such as China, North America, and Europe. The global mango industry is valued at USD 60 billion, with India accounting for over USD 20 billion, growing at an annual rate of up to 8 per cent.
