NEW DELHI, 27 July 2023: The Government of Meghalaya has launched a new framework to tackle climate change, called "Nature Solves." The framework aims to harness the power of nature to restore ecosystems, conserve water resources, and mitigate climate change.

The framework was launched at a two-day conclave on climate change, which was held in Meghalaya under the aegis of the G20 Summit. The conclave was attended by representatives from governments, organizations, and indigenous communities from around the world.

The "Nature Solves" framework is based on the principle that nature has the solutions to many of the challenges facing the world today. For example, forests can help to regulate the climate, wetlands can help to filter water, and mangroves can protect coastal communities from storms.

The framework outlines a number of ways to harness the power of nature to tackle climate change. These include:

  • Protecting and restoring ecosystems
  • Investing in sustainable agriculture
  • Developing renewable energy sources
  • Reducing pollution

The Government of Meghalaya is committed to implementing the "Nature Solves" framework. The state has already taken a number of steps to protect its natural resources, such as establishing a network of sacred groves and implementing a payment for ecosystem services program.

The "Nature Solves" framework is a significant step forward in the fight against climate change. By harnessing the power of nature, we can create a more sustainable future for our planet.
