Mauganj Set to Become Model for Sustainable Farming, Agro-Innovation, and Rural Development
REWA, 20 April 2025: In a groundbreaking move set to redefine the agricultural landscape of Madhya Pradesh, Patanjali Yogpeeth has announced a comprehensive initiative to revolutionise farming practices in the Vindhya region, with a model project in Mauganj district.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, said the initiative aims to boost farmer income, improve agri-productivity, and promote sustainable farming methods.
As part of the ambitious project, Patanjali will invest in crop diversification, advanced seed units, farmer training centres, and primary processing facilities. The barren land in Mauganj, recently transferred to Patanjali by the state administration, will be brought under cultivation to unlock the region’s economic potential and create agriculture-based employment opportunities.
Acharya Balkrishna stated, “This is not just a service project—it’s a movement to realise the dream of farmer prosperity envisioned by Swami Ramdev. By reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers and pesticides, we will pave the way for a chemical-free, organic farming revolution in Madhya Pradesh.”
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, along with senior officials including UK Tiwari (Executive Director, MPIDC Rewa RO), Navendu Shukla (GM) and KK Garg (Executive Engineer), was present during the land handover ceremony. The team also discussed Patanjali's roadmap for holistic rural development, which includes the establishment of healthcare and educational services to uplift farming communities.
The project is expected to drive agro-industrial growth, facilitate technology transfer to smallholder farmers, and integrate value chain processing to ensure better price realisation. By converting unproductive land into fertile agricultural zones, Patanjali seeks to make Madhya Pradesh a national model for integrated, eco-conscious agribusiness.
The initiative aligns with India’s broader goals of self-reliance in agriculture, Doubling Farmers' Income, and promoting green farming ecosystems under the Amrit Kaal vision of national development.
