BHOPAL, 3 July 2025: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana to help struggling farmers boost their incomes and encourage self-reliant farming. Eligible farmers will receive  INR 4,000 annually, paid in two instalments of INR 2,000 each.

The state-level scheme is designed to supplement the existing PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and targets improving the financial stability of small and marginal farmers. Officials say the scheme will help farmers cover input costs, invest in better farming practices, and ultimately improve their livelihoods.

Eligibility requirements

To qualify for the scheme, farmers must:

  • Be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh
  • Be registered under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
  • Own cultivable land
  • Actively engage in farming activities

However, several categories are excluded from the scheme, including individuals holding or having held constitutional posts, members of parliament or state legislatures, mayors, district panchayat chairpersons, most government employees (except Class IV staff), pensioners drawing INR 10,000 or more per month, recent income tax payers, and actively practicing professionals such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, or chartered accountants.

Application process

Farmers interested in applying can download the application form from the official government website or collect it from their local Patwari’s office. They must fill out the form with accurate personal and farming details, attach required documents, and submit it to the Patwari.

The application requires:

  • PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Registration Number
  • Aadhaar card
  • Agricultural land records
  • Proof of domicile (basic address proof, voter ID, or electricity bill)

Once the Patwari processes and approves the application, successful applicants will receive confirmation via their registered mobile number or email.

Officials hope this cash aid will help strengthen farmer resilience, as Madhya Pradesh continues to focus on rural economic development and reducing farmers’ dependency on loans.
