MUMBAI, 2 July 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday marked Krushi Din, the state’s Farmers’ Day, by calling for greater adoption of modern agricultural technologies to drive holistic development of the farming community.
Using the social media platform X, Fadnavis extended his greetings to farmers across the state. “Heartiest wishes on Krushi Din to the farmer who strengthens Maharashtra’s economy! Let’s adopt modern agricultural technologies and work towards the holistic development of our farmers,” he posted.
The Chief Minister also paid tribute to former CM Vasantrao Naik, whose birth anniversary is commemorated as Krushi Din. Naik, regarded as the father of the Green Revolution in Maharashtra, served as Chief Minister from 1963 to 1975, making him the state’s longest-serving leader.
Fadnavis' remarks come amid renewed policy focus on farmer welfare, modernization, and sustainable practices in Maharashtra’s agricultural sector.
