NEW DELHI, 21 June 2025: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume and a leader in agricultural innovation, unveiled its latest breakthrough – the Mahindra 6RO Paddy Walker – in the national capital.
This 6-row walk-behind paddy transplanter is set to revolutionize rice cultivation in the region with its blend of compact design, high performance, and fuel-efficient technology.
Building on the success of its earlier models—the MP461 (4RO walk-behind) and PLANTING MASTER PADDY 4RO (ride-on)—Mahindra aims to further strengthen its leadership in the rice mechanisation segment. The 6RO transplanter offers a labor-saving, precision-driven alternative to conventional transplanting, making it ideal for progressive farmers and agri-rental businesses alike.
Paddy remains a significant crop in Delhi and surrounding northern states, and early adoption of mechanised farming practices has contributed to enhanced yields and sustainability. The new Mahindra 6RO Paddy Walker aligns perfectly with this trend, offering a six-row transplanting system that reduces labor, conserves water, and boosts overall farming profitability.
Engineered for operator comfort and field efficiency, the manually operated machine is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre in narrow field layouts, yet robust enough to handle intense workloads. Its durable gearbox and 4-litre high-performance engine are optimized for low fuel consumption, longer service life, and higher planting precision.
"We are proud to bring a solution that not only empowers farmers but also advances India’s journey toward mechanised and sustainable agriculture," said a senior FES official at the launch.
The machine requires a minimum operating base of 200 acres, making it highly suitable for rental model businesses. With a 2-year payback period, entrepreneurs and farmer producer organizations (FPOs) stand to benefit significantly.
To ensure on-ground serviceability and farmer convenience, Mahindra is leveraging its wide dealership network along with its newly launched mobile app ‘Mahindra Saathi’, which offers real-time service tracking, booking, and doorstep assistance.
In addition, farmers in Delhi can access attractive financing options through Mahindra Finance and Sriram Finance, making it easier for small and marginal farmers to adopt this next-generation solution.
With the 6RO Paddy Walker, Mahindra has taken another bold step toward transforming India’s rice farming landscape, promoting cost-effective, high-yield, and eco-friendly practices that resonate with the needs of modern agriculture.
