MUMBAI, 2 July 2025: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Business reported robust tractor sales in June 2025, underpinned by improving rural liquidity and the timely arrival of the southwest monsoon.
Domestic tractor sales stood at 51,769 units for the month, up 13% from 45,888 units in June 2024. Including exports, Mahindra sold 53,392 tractors in June, compared with 47,319 a year earlier, marking an identical 13% year-on-year growth.
Exports for June reached 1,623 units, versus 1,431 units a year ago, reflecting stronger overseas demand as well.
Industry sentiment has improved in recent weeks, helped by better cash flow following the Rabi harvest, widespread monsoon rainfall, and government support programs to boost farmer incomes.
“With favorable long-term rainfall trends and healthy land preparation for the Kharif crop season, the outlook for the tractor market remains optimistic,” said Veejay Nakra, President of the Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra.
For the first quarter of the current fiscal (April–June 2025), Mahindra reported total tractor sales of 134,089 units, up 10% from 121,467 in the corresponding period last year.
The company expects tractor demand to hold firm through the Kharif sowing cycle, supported by record foodgrain production, positive rural sentiment, and ongoing farm mechanization initiatives.
The Farm Equipment Business remains a key contributor to Mahindra’s overall performance, sustaining its leadership in the Indian tractor market.
