Escorts Agri Machinery sale down, while VST Tillers records growth in May 2020

Escorts Ltd's Agri Machinery Segment (EAM) has announced that is tractors sale for the month of May 2020 has recorded a drop of 233 units at 6,594 tractors, as compared to 6,827 tractors sold in May 2019.

FARIDABAD/BENGALURU, 6 June 2020: Escorts Ltd's Agri Machinery Segment (EAM) has announced that is tractors sale for the month of May 2020 has recorded a drop of 233 units at 6,594 tractors, as compared to 6,827 tractors sold in May 2019.

Export for the month of May 2020 was also down by 58.7 percent to 140 tractors, as against 339 tractors sold in May 2019.

For the two month period, the company said that it has recorded a drop of 39.6 percent at 7299 units (domestic + export), as compared to 12,091 units sold during the two month period last year, the company said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Bengaluru based company, VST Tillers Tractors, however recorded a growth in tractor sale at 633 units in May 2020, as compared to 527 units sold in May 2019.

The company leader in manufacturing of power tillers also posted a growth with selling 1750 power tillers, as compared to 1411 power tillers sold in the same month last year, the filing added.
