Singh visits Mother Dairy, Safal outlets to promote cashless transaction

Indian minister of agriculture and farmers welfare, Radha Mohan Singh recently visited some outlets of Mother Dairy Milk and Safal to see the digitalization drive to promote cashless transaction.

Indian minister of agriculture and farmers welfare, Radha Mohan Singh recently visited some outlets of Mother Dairy Milk and Safal to see the digitalization drive to promote cashless transaction in New Delhi.

Singh visited Mother Dairy and Safal Booths viz. Booth No. 214 ( near Kanishka Hotel, Ashok Road), Booth No. 217 ( near Himachal Bhawan, Kutir Marg) and Booth No. 238 (Tees January Marg). Shri Radha Mohan Singh made cashless payment of via SBI Mother Dairy Smart Change Cards and E-Wallet to purchase the dairy products at the Mother Dairy Milk and Safal outlets.

The minister enquired about the payment options available in the outlet with the booth operators and saw a demonstration on the ease of purchase through digital mode. The operators expressed their happiness about the options available as they are also relieved of unnecessary cash transaction and the risk associated with the same.

It is worth noting that Before November 8, 2016, the total transaction value was $182,000 (Rs 13 lakhs).

After November 8, 2016, the total transaction value is $1.08 million (Rs 78.84 lakhs).

Post demonetization, there has been an increase of 243 per cent in the number of transactions at mother dairy and safal booths through SBI mother dairy smart change card recording an increase of 336 per cent in the total value of transactions.

Further, post demonetization, there has been an increase of 1363 per cent in the number of transactions at mother dairy and safal booths through e-wallet recording an increase of 714 per cent in the total value of transactions.
