LUCKOW, 1 July 2025: In a significant move to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s rural economy and boost farmers’ incomes, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reiterated the state’s commitment to empowering milk producers and expanding the dairy sector.
The announcement came as the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to take over the management of three major dairy plants in Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Kannauj, along with an animal feed production unit in Ambedkar Nagar.
Speaking at his official residence, Adityanath said the agreement would mark a new era of self-reliance, advanced technology, and profitability for the state’s dairy farmers.
“The Uttar Pradesh government is working with full dedication to make the dairy sector self-reliant, technologically equipped, and profitable for farmers,” the Chief Minister stated.
Officials said NDDB’s involvement will ensure higher levels of professionalism, transparency, and technical skill, creating stable marketing channels, timely payments, and fair prices for farmers.
“With NDDB managing these facilities, farmers will directly benefit from improved efficiency, better prices for their milk, and a sustainable, thriving dairy ecosystem,” the state government noted in a statement.
Adityanath emphasized that quality milk products will be made more widely available to consumers while improving the overall economic well-being of livestock farmers in rural communities.
By handing over operations to an institution with NDDB’s proven track record, Uttar Pradesh hopes to transform the sector with modern best practices, ensuring the benefits reach the grassroots and strengthen the rural economy.
