THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, 27 February 2026: In a strategic diversification move, the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, popularly known as Milma, has entered the health and dietary supplements segment with the launch of its first protein-rich drink, Nutrilevel. The federation also introduced two coffee-based milkshakes — Café Mocha and Cold Coffee — targeting younger consumers.
The products were unveiled by Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Smt J Chinchurani, who handed over Nutrilevel to Milma Chairman KS Mani at a function held here.
Protein-Rich Meal Replacer
Nutrilevel, available in a 200 ml pack, is positioned as a nutritious meal replacer. Each vanilla-flavoured pack contains 14 grams of protein and combines milk with lactose, sucrose, minerals and vitamins to support muscle health and energy levels. The sterilised drink is chemical- and preservative-free, with a shelf life of one year.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister describes the launch as a significant step, noting that the protein-rich supplement is suitable for diabetic patients as well. She highlights Milma’s broader role in Kerala’s dairy self-sufficiency drive, stating that 85 per cent of its profits are reinvested for the welfare of dairy farmers through cooperative societies.
The Minister also shares Milma’s target of achieving a turnover of INR 10,000 crore by 2030.
Expanding Product Portfolio
Milma Chairman KS Mani says the introduction of Nutrilevel reflects both business diversification and social commitment. He adds that the health drink is expected to benefit diabetic patients and fitness-conscious consumers, potentially contributing to broader improvements in public health awareness.
The newly launched Café Mocha and Cold Coffee milkshakes are available in 180 ml cans. Unlike regular flavoured milk, the products are marketed as thick and creamy milkshakes in attractive tins, designed to appeal to younger demographics.
Strengthening Brand Identity
Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Chairperson Smt Mani Viswanath states that the new products enhance Milma’s brand identity and strengthen its distinct market presence.
Asif K Yusuf, IAS, Managing Director of Milma, welcomed the gathering, while Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union MD Shri KC James presented the product details.
On the occasion, Dr Gopinath S Sunil, Chief Endocrinologist/Scientist at Oroville Hospital, USA and KIMS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, was felicitated for providing scientific guidance for the product.
With the launch of Nutrilevel and the coffee-based milkshakes, Milma signals its intent to tap into India’s growing health and wellness beverage market while reinforcing its cooperative-driven dairy model.
