VISHAKAPATNAM, 05 October 2016 : In order to expand its reach across India, Creamline Dairy, a subsidiary of Godrej Agrovet is setting up new dairy plant in Vishakapatnam.
The new plant will have a capacity of 100,000 liters and has been come up with an investment of $4.49 million (Rs 30 crore).
The dairy has presence in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra.
The company already has seven factories, two in Hyderabad, one each in Madanapalli, Vijayawada, Mandya district (Karnataka) and in Nagpur. We also have a powder plant in Ongole (Andhra Pradesh).
Creamline has a good presence in South India and it is also looking to launch fortified milk Enrich D, under the Jersey brand, which is targeted at health-conscious customers.
With this new plant, the company wants to enter Eastern India market.
The company was in the process of scaling up its business across various categories as the industry was growing 25-30 per cent year-on-year.
The dairy's group revenue was close to $149 million (Rs 1,000 crore) last year and was rising over the industry growth of 25 percent.
Creamline Dairy has about 5,000 outlets in South and has about 800 agents in Tamil Nadu alone.
