MUMBAI, 11 May 2026: Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation has expanded its agri automation portfolio with a focus on smart irrigation, connected farming and precision agriculture technologies as part of its latest technology showcase aimed at strengthening India’s sustainable farming ecosystem.

The company unveiled more than 10 next-generation solutions in Mumbai under its “Powering a Non-Stop India” initiative, with agriculture automation emerging as a key pillar in its broader energy and industrial technology strategy.

The newly introduced Agri Automation Portfolio integrates irrigation automation, fertigation systems, motor and pump automation, field sensors and cloud-connected digital platforms to help farmers improve productivity, optimise water use and reduce operational costs.

Focus on connected and sustainable farming

According to the company, the solutions combine time-based, volume-based and sensor-based automation with mobile and cloud connectivity through its SmartComm platform. The technologies are designed to support small, medium and large agricultural enterprises across India.

Naresh Kumar, COO of Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, said the company is developing India-centric technologies that address practical agricultural challenges, including remote irrigation management and energy optimisation.

He added that the company’s approach focuses on translating locally developed innovations into scalable solutions capable of supporting India’s agricultural transformation.

Technology expansion beyond metros

As part of its expansion strategy, Lauritz Knudsen has launched a 100-city Technology Day initiative to increase adoption of electrical and automation technologies across Tier-2 and Tier-3 industrial and agricultural markets.

The initiative aims to bring automation, power quality and solar technologies closer to India’s manufacturing and farming clusters, helping accelerate digital adoption beyond metropolitan regions.

Automation and digital integration

Alongside its agriculture-focused solutions, the company showcased industrial automation technologies such as Intelligent Motor Management Relays and digital twin-enabled switchboard systems designed for predictive maintenance and operational efficiency.

The broader showcase also included low-voltage switchgear, solar inverters, EV charging systems and smart home automation technologies.

Strengthening India’s agri-tech ecosystem

Lauritz Knudsen said its agri automation technologies are aligned with the country’s growing emphasis on precision farming, resource efficiency and sustainable agriculture practices.

With increasing demand for smart farming solutions amid climate and water management challenges, the company aims to position its automation ecosystem as a critical enabler of India’s next phase of agricultural modernisation.
