NEW DELHI, 22 February 2026: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired a high-level review meeting at Krishi Bhawan to assess the progress of Rabi crop sowing, price trends of key agricultural commodities and implementation of major central schemes.

The Minister reviewed the latest sowing status of Rabi crops and examined price movements of vegetables, pulses, oilseeds and other food grain items. He expressed satisfaction over the progress of Rabi sowing and stated that the price situation remains under close and continuous monitoring to ensure market stability.

Chouhan also evaluated the release and utilisation of funds by States under Krishonnati Yojana and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). He directed officials to conduct review meetings with States where fund utilisation is below expectations to ensure timely implementation and optimal outcomes.

Emphasising outcome-based governance, the Minister instructed the Department to collect direct feedback from farmers and other end users to assess the on-ground effectiveness of various agricultural schemes. He underscored that real-time feedback is essential for improving delivery mechanisms and strengthening farmer confidence.

The Minister further directed officials to expedite implementation of agriculture-related announcements made in the Union Budget 2026–27, in coordination with State Governments.
