VIJAYAWADA, 7 June 2025: In a major step to ensure smooth farming operations during the upcoming Kharif season, the Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Department has rolled out a robust fertiliser distribution strategy for 2025.
According to official data, the state has been allocated 16.76 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of fertilisers, including 6.22 lakh MT of Urea, 2.60 lakh MT of DAP, 0.70 lakh MT of MOP, 0.94 lakh MT of SSP, and 6.30 lakh MT of complex fertilisers.
As of April 1, Andhra Pradesh had a stock of 7.14 lakh MT. Between April and June 6, the state received an additional 3.95 lakh MT, surpassing the 2.07 lakh MT demand during that period. The total available stock now stands at 11.09 lakh MT, with 2 lakh MT already distributed to farmers.
To facilitate access, 9.09 lakh MT remains stored across cooperative societies, Rythu Seva Kendras (RSKs), Markfed godowns, and licensed retail outlets. Another 2.01 lakh MT is ready for immediate dispatch.
For June alone, the Centre has allocated 2.35 lakh MT to Andhra Pradesh. The state is promoting the use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP as efficient alternatives to conventional fertilisers to improve nutrient efficiency and reduce dependency on bulk fertilisers.
Distribution is being coordinated through RSKs, cooperatives, and private dealers, ensuring that farmers receive timely support for a successful Kharif season.
