MUMBAI, 19 October 2025: Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) has announced the completion of its merger with Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCFL), effective October 16. The integration positions PPL among India’s largest private-sector fertilizer producers, marking a major step in its expansion strategy.
With the merger, PPL’s total fertilizer production capacity rises by over 23 per cent—from 3 million to 3.7 million metric tonnes annually. The move also strengthens PPL’s presence in southern India, complementing its established operations in northern, western, central and eastern regions, thereby deepening its pan-India reach.
The unified entity is expected to leverage its combined manufacturing and distribution strengths to deliver a broader range of fertilizers and improve supply chain efficiency. By consolidating resources, PPL aims to enhance crop-specific fertilizer offerings, streamline logistics, and optimize inventory management through its extensive network of dealers and partners.
Mr. Suresh Krishnan, Managing Director and CEO of Paradeep Phosphates, described the merger as a “significant milestone” in the company’s growth journey. “Together, we can operate at a larger scale and offer a stronger, more agile, and diverse product portfolio,” he said. “Our expanded distribution network and streamlined supply chain will enable us to serve farmers more effectively across India.”
PPL said the merger reinforces its guiding philosophy of ‘Farmer First’, aligning growth initiatives with the goal of delivering long-term value to the farming community and supporting the broader vision of advancing Indian agriculture.
