Close to over INR 15 crore paid
SHIMLA, 21 April 2022: As reported by the implementing insurance company in the State of Himachal Pradesh i.e. Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd. over 1.3 crore application has been processed under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY During 2020-21, the insurance company also paid claims worth INR 15.72 crore for wheat crop in the State for Rabi.
State-wise details of number of farmer applications insured for wheat crop during Rabi 2021-22 in the country (as on 09.03.2022) are given in following table :

As per data available as on 9 March 2022, 382 lakh hectare of Gross Cropped Area (GCA) has been insured under PMFBY during 2021-22 in the country.
