NEW DELHI, 18 July 2026: The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated the commercial export of 2 metric tonnes of Amrapali mangoes from Jharkhand to Dubai, opening new export opportunities for tribal and women-led farmer producer companies (FPCs).

The consignment, exported by Fair Exports (India) Pvt. Ltd. for retail sale through Lulu stores in Dubai, was sourced from women-led FPCs in Gumla and Deoghar districts. The mango orchards were developed by tribal women farmers under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, implemented in convergence with MGNREGA.

According to APEDA, the export enabled participating farmers to earn around 180% higher returns than local market prices. The three FPCs involved have over 1,500 shareholders each, collectively representing more than 50,000 farmers.

To prepare the farmer groups for exports, APEDA conducted capacity-building programmes on international quality standards, post-harvest management and export procedures. The authority also organised a dedicated export awareness programme for women entrepreneurs and self-help groups in Deoghar to promote participation in global agricultural trade.

APEDA said the initiative highlights the export potential of Jharkhand's horticulture sector while strengthening women-led farmer collectives through training, market linkages and export facilitation.
