KOCHI, 11 October 2025: The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) will organise a one-day training programme for fish farmers on Saturday (October 11), coinciding with the nationwide launch of the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM DDKY).

The training will introduce participants to a range of modern aquaculture practices, including mussel and oyster farming, cage and pen culture, biofloc technology, and the use of black soldier fly larvae for sustainable fish feed production.

As part of the programme, fishing and farming inputs will be distributed free of cost to beneficiaries from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Participants will also have the chance to interact with aquaculture experts and gain insights into scientific and eco-friendly fish farming techniques.

A live screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address marking the official launch of the PM DDKY will be held during the event.
