LUCKNOW, 30 June 2025: In a significant push toward agricultural modernization, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced subsidies to support farmers investing in agricultural drones and other advanced farm machinery.
Farmers can apply for these subsidies online through the portal www.agridarshan.up.gov.in until July 12, officials said.
The subsidies are being offered under multiple programs of the Agriculture Department, including the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization and the Mechanization for In-Situ Management of Crop Residue schemes.
Eligible categories include high-tech hubs for custom hiring, custom hiring centers, farm machinery banks, agricultural drones, crop residue management tools, and protective farming equipment.
A wide range of modern equipment qualifies for these subsidies, including:
- agricultural drones
- combine harvesters with Super SMS
- pneumatic planters
- maize shellers
- popping machines
- batch dryers
- threshing floors
- oil extraction units
- sugarcane settler planters
By reducing the cost burden on farmers, the state government aims to encourage faster adoption of advanced machinery, thereby increasing productivity, reducing labor costs, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.
These initiatives align with Uttar Pradesh’s broader mission to modernize agriculture, minimize crop residue burning, and promote climate-smart farming technologies.
Farmers interested in applying are advised to review eligibility criteria and submit their applications on the official portal before the July 12 deadline.
