SHIVPURI, 28 July 2023: Netafim, an Orbia business and a global leader in precision agriculture solutions, has revolutionized tomato farming in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, by helping farmers achieve a 40 percent increase in crop yield and higher profit.

Netafim has been working with farmers in Shivpuri district for the past few years to help them adopt drip irrigation technology. Drip irrigation is a highly efficient method of irrigation that delivers water directly to the roots of plants, minimizing water loss and fertilizer runoff.

The company has installed drip irrigation systems on over 1,600 hectares of land in Shivpuri district, and the results have been impressive. Farmers who have adopted drip irrigation have seen their crop yields increase by an average of 40 percent. They have also been able to save on water and fertilizer costs, resulting in higher profits.

One of the farmers who has benefited from Netafim's drip irrigation technology is Ram Singh. Singh owns a 2-hectare tomato farm in Shivpuri district. He used to irrigate his farm by flooding, but he found that this method was wasteful and inefficient. He switched to drip irrigation in 2021, and he has seen his crop yield increase by 50 percent.

"I am very happy with the results of drip irrigation," Singh said. "I am saving a lot of water and fertilizer, and my profits have increased significantly."

Netafim's drip irrigation technology is not only helping farmers in Shivpuri district to increase their crop yields and profits, but it is also helping them to save water and protect the environment. Drip irrigation is a more efficient method of irrigation than flooding, and it can help to reduce water pollution.

"We are committed to helping farmers in Shivpuri district to achieve sustainable and profitable agriculture," said Amit Maheshwari, Head of Business Development at Netafim. "Drip irrigation is a key part of our strategy to help farmers in the district to achieve their goals."
