AMARAVATI, 8 June 2025: Andhra Pradesh MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas declared that ‘Kisan Drones’ are revolutionising agriculture by significantly reducing the use of fertilisers and seeds.
He urged farmers to adopt collective usage of these drones to minimise agricultural investments.
In a ceremony held at Gajapathinagaram, Vizianagaram district, the Minister handed over the first of 24 sanctioned Kisan drones to local farmers. The total cost of each drone is ₹9.8 lakh, of which farmers contributed ₹4.8 lakh, with the government providing subsidies under the Rashtriya Kisan Vikas Yojana scheme.
Vizianagaram District Agriculture Officer V.T. Ramarao stated that eight more drones would soon be delivered, supported by farmers’ contributions and bank financing. He emphasised the importance of using drones under expert supervision during the initial phase.
Minister Srinivas also highlighted that the maintenance costs of Kisan drones are minimal, making them a cost-effective and efficient tool for modern farming practices. The initiative aims to empower farmers with innovative technology to increase productivity and sustainability.
