UPL, a leading provider of Sustainable Agriculture Solutions, announced a collaboration with the Republic of Guyana to establish a 200 acre ‘Millets Model Farm’. Jai Shroff, Group CEO of UPL group and Zulfikar Mustafa, Agriculture Minister of the Republic of Guyana, signed an MOU on 21 April, 2023 in Georgetown, Guyana with an aim to assess the adaptation of various millet varieties for growing and consuming in Guyana.

DGCA give nod to agri ministry for usage of drone under PMFBY

Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), aviation regulatory authority has given its approval to the agriculture ministry for flying drones to capture images of rice and wheat fields in 100 districts to assess crop yields at gram panchayat level under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), agriculture & farmers welfare minister Narendra Singh Tomar said recently.

The bank will use satellite data imagery to measure an array of parameters related to the land, irrigation, and crop patterns and use it in combination with demographic and financial parameters to make quick lending decisions for farmers.
