ANAND, 12 May 2026: Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd., has been unanimously elected Chairman of Sardar Patel Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited (SPCDF), marking a significant development in India’s expanding cooperative dairy movement.

The election of office bearers was held on May 5, 2026, at AmulFed Dairy in Gandhinagar. Mehta’s nomination was proposed by Ashok Chaudhary and seconded by Shabesinh Parmar.

Meanwhile, Sangram Chaudhary, representing Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited, was elected Vice Chairman of SPCDF.

National cooperative dairy network

The election results were formally declared by Ravindra D Khatale, who served as Returning Officer appointed by the Cooperative Election Authority under the Ministry of Cooperation.

SPCDF was launched by Amit Shah on July 6, 2025, with the objective of expanding the cooperative dairy model beyond Gujarat and strengthening milk producer networks across India.

The federation aims to connect more than 20 lakh dairy farmers from over 20,000 villages across 20 states into an organised cooperative structure. The initiative seeks to ensure fair milk pricing, equitable voting rights, modern dairy services, and broader access to cooperative benefits for farmers.

The SPCDF board comprises representatives from GCMMF, 10 member unions of GCMMF, and cooperative milk societies from Assam, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

Push for White Revolution 2.0

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Sahkar se Samriddhi” vision and the government’s “White Revolution 2.0” strategy focused on boosting farmer incomes, rural prosperity, and value-added dairy infrastructure.

Backed by GCMMF’s operational and marketing expertise, SPCDF is expected to strengthen the national dairy cooperative ecosystem from village societies to consumer markets across the country.

The newly elected office bearers thanked the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of Gujarat, and member unions for their support and reiterated their commitment to empowering milk producers and expanding the cooperative dairy movement nationwide.
