SINGAPORE, 21 September 2022: Agri-biotech business Nutrition Technologies, based in Singapore, secured USD 20 million in equity capital.

PTT Ventures spearheaded the round, which also included Sumitomo Corporation, ING Sustainable Investments, and Mandala Capital.

With the funds, the company intends to expand into new markets, launch new products, accelerate R&D, and develop new strategic partnerships.

Nutrition Technologies is an agri-biotech company run by Nick Piggott and Tom Berry that transforms low-grade agricultural and food waste into highly sought-after animal feed components and biofertilizers using their patented growth inoculants and black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens).

In Johor, Malaysia, their two-hectare industrial plant bioconverts several hundred tonnes of organic waste each week. The factory generates functional proteins and oils, which contain bioactive components that effectively enhance the health and growth of animals.

With notable outcomes, Nutrition Technologies has tested its products on a variety of animals over the past few years, including fish, shrimp, chicken, piglets, and pets.

Their cutting-edge biofertilizers strengthen soil health while organically boosting plant disease resistance, thereby lowering the need for toxic pesticides.
