India's total sown area as on June 30, 2017, as per reports received from States, stands at 22.23 million hectare, as compared to 18.70 million hectare at this time last year.
It is reported that rice has been sown/transplanted in 3.89 million ha, pulses in 1.88 million ha, coarse cereals in 3.81 million ha, sugarcane in 4.75 million hectare and cotton in 4.61 million ha.
