India has recorded an increase in kharif sowing, which was recorded at 9.28 million hectares as on June 16, 2017, as compared to 8.75 million hectares sowed during the same period last year.
It is reported that rice has been sown/transplanted in 922,000 hectares, pulses in 222,000 hectares, sugarcane in 4.75 million hectares and cotton in 1.66 million hectares.
