As per the figures released by the Indian agriculture ministry, India's kharif crop as on 1 September 2017 is recorded at 102.81 million hectares, as compared to 103.42 million hectares recorded during the same time last year.
The data shows that rice has been sown/transplanted in 36.63 million ha, pulses in 13.76 million ha, coarse cereals in 18.06 million ha, sugarcane in 4.98 million hectare and cotton in 11.98 million ha.
