Indian Kharif crop sowing touches 101 MN hectares

Indian kharif sowing have touch recorded a growth at 101.9 million hectares as on August 26, 2016, the Indian agriculture ministry said in a statement.

Indian kharif sowing have touch recorded a growth at 101.9 million hectares as on August 26, 2016, the Indian agriculture ministry said in a statement.

During the same date last year, 97.34 million were sown, the statement adds.

It is reported that rice has been sown/transplanted in 36.30 million ha, pulses in 13.94 million ha, coarse cereals in 18.29 million ha, oilseeds in 17.77 million ha, sugarcane in 4.55 million hectare and cotton in 10.27 million ha.
