KOCHI, 7 November 2024: The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) will offer a short-term course on water and sediment analytical techniques with special reference to marine life from November 25 to 29.

The five-day programme is part of CMFRI’s Know your Marine Biodiversity & Environment (MarBiE 3) training series.

The training will cover a variety of techniques, including water quality analysis, sediment characterization, identification of common marine contaminants and utilising analytical instruments, besides field trips for collection of sediments and water samples. Participants will get insights on analysing key parameters such as dissolved oxygen levels, nutrient concentrations and the presence of pollutants in water, and grain size and organic matter content in sediments.

The course is designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in analysing water and sediment samples for the purpose of studying marine life and its environment.

Interested candidates can register online at the Google form given in the website on or before November 10. Details can be had from website- www.cmfri.org.in
